Haleigh Is Teaching Me Spanish

This conversation was just too cute to not blog about. The other day we were driving home and this conversation began:

Haleigh : "Mommy...know what....

Me: "What, sweetie"

Haleigh: "Some people call Daddy's work, Lowes"

Me: "Yeah, you're right"

Haleigh: "Did you know that Lowes is spanish for Daddy's work?"

Me: "nope. Didn't know that. Thanks for letting me know"

Too cute. I guess it can get kind of confusion when there is more than one term for a particular person, place, or thing. To her it probably is just like another language. The more I teach Haleigh about words and their meaning and how to read the more I wonder how I ever figured it out. English is hard!

That is really cute. Wait until she starts reading and writing and finds out the letters she spent all that time learning thier sounds usually make totally different sounds! So fun!
